The Seniors Ministry exists to meet the spiritual, social, emotional and physical needs of both members and non-member senior adults 55+ in the Jamestown community. Our Seniors Ministry provides a variety of opportunities to connect with one another in a Christian environment that values and honors their God-given gifts, encourages continued service for Christ, and ensures an experience of belonging and support.

If you love to play games, then be sure to attend our Senior Games, held on the 1st Tuesday of the month (April through December). These morning games start at 10:00 am and continue until 11:30 am.  Have fun together and win prizes. Participants take turns to volunteer and provide a lunch to further enjoy fellowship and connectedness.

SENIOR MINISTRY TRIPS

Throughout the year the Seniors Ministry plans day, evening, or overnight trips to regional activities for fellowship, learning, and fun with one another.  In addition, service events supporting church-sponsored endeavors help seniors use their talents, abilities, and gifts to build up the church community.

June 16, 2025: Annual Der Dutchman Luncheon

September 4, 2025:  The Road to Damascus:  Luncheon Buffet at Dutch Valley Restaurant followed by the musical performance presenting the Apostle Paul through the Book of Acts.

December 4, 2025:  A Carillon Christmas at Carillon Historical Park:  Going through the park seeing the 65-acre campus transformed into a winter Wonderland of sparkle, magic, and holiday cheer.   Beginning at 5, we will listen to Christmas Music played on one of the largest Carillons (151 feet, with 57 bells) in the nation.  Then we have supper at Carillon Brewing Company, offering a glimpse into 1850s-era Dayton historic brewing process.  Their exclusive food partner is Dayton BBQ Company.

WIDOWS RESOURCE SUPPORT MINISTRY

The Bible instructs the Church to care for widows in James 1:27, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”  This ministry strives to help these special ladies in two ways. First, it seeks to provide friendship, fellowship and connection with the Church through monthly visitation and/or phone calls through designated deacons. Second, it provides resource support serving as a conduit through which minor handyman services from those in the church or major handyman services through community businesses are provided to meet the house, property, and automobile needs.
